A 16-year-old learner driver has been charged over the death of a pedestrian in Melbourne’s northwest.
A car reportedly mounted a kerb and struck a pedestrian on the footpath on Taylors Rd at Keilor Downs about 5.30am on Tuesday.
The pedestrian, a 29-year-old man from Kealba in Melbourne’s northwest, died at the scene.

The allegedly unaccompanied learner driver behind the wheel of the car was hospitalised with serious injuries, and has since been interviewed by police.
The 16-year-old boy from Kings Park in Melbourne’s northwest was charged with dangerous driving causing death and driving as a learner while unaccompanied.
He is due to face a children’s court on Friday.
